Digital Jihad: Tech-Driven Propaganda Assaults on Israel

In the ongoing Iron Swords War against Hamas and its Iranian-backed allies, Israel confronts not only rockets and terror tunnels but a sophisticated digital offensive designed to erode its legitimacy and incite global antisemitism.

Networks of bots, AI-generated deepfakes, and organized initiatives like Tech for Palestine serve as weapons in this shadow war, flooding social media with disinformation to demonize the Jewish state and its lawful self-defense measures. Iran's hand is unmistakable in escalating these efforts, with cyber units conducting attacks on Israeli infrastructure since 2014 and ramping up deepfake dissemination during the current war—a tactic unprecedented in scale, per INSS research. Accounts like @trackingisrael exemplify the bot-like propaganda churn, posting doctored soldier footage and inflammatory claims to portray Israel's defensive operations as atrocities, often recycling Hamas-sourced material. These operations blend with Russian influence campaigns and leftist "useful idiots" who unwittingly amplify calls for Israel's destruction, prioritizing Arab Settler narratives over Jewish national rights.

This technological jihad poses an existential threat, redefining "peace" as submission to Islamic dominance and "human rights" through Sharia lenses that deny equality to Kafirs like Israelis.
